United States Medical Licensing Examination

The United States Medical Licencing Examination (USMLE) is a professional test that takes place in many parts. The National Board of Medical Examination (NBME) and the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) jointly sponsor the USMLE. The doctors who have an MD degree and wish to practise medicine in the United States of America should take this exam. For this, a doctor must hold an MD before becoming a doctor. This fundamental eligibility requirement enables the doctor to freely practise medicine in the United States of America. Graduates of the US Osteopathic Medical School are allowed to participate.

The pass rates of the applicants for the first time are:

  • 94% for U.S.M.D. Medical School Graduates
  • 89% for U.S.D.O. Osteopathic Medical School Graduates
  • 73% for international school Graduates

Step 2

The pass rate for the step 2 CK for the first time:

  • 97% for U.S.M.D. Medical School Graduates
  • 93% for U.S.D.O. Medical School Graduates

The pass rate for the step 2 CS for the first time:

  • 98% for U.S.M.D. Medical School Graduates
  • 88% for U.S.D.O. Medical School Graduates

Step 3

The overall pass rates in Step-3 of the applicants for the first time are:

  • 97% for U.S.M.D. Medical School Graduates
  • 94% for U.S.D.O. Medical School Graduates
  • 78% for international school Graduates
